Hero Marketing / Restaurant Branding

Menu &
Brand Story.

Your cuisine. Your people. Your place. We turn what makes your restaurant special into a high-quality menu and a brand story guests can feel — before the first bite.

Not a template.
Your restaurant.

A Japanese tasting counter, a family-run Italian trattoria, and a lively Mexican neighborhood restaurant should not sound or look alike. We shape the work around your food, price point, dining occasion, and local audience — not whatever style happens to be trending.

From discovery to the dining room

How we create it

01

Start with your restaurant

We listen to your owner, chef, and front-of-house team. Your cuisine, signature dishes, ingredient sourcing, service style, neighborhood, and guests become the brief. We identify what makes your restaurant different before choosing a font or writing a headline.

02

Find the story worth telling

We turn that brief into a clear positioning statement and a distinctive voice. A family recipe, a regional cooking tradition, or a chef’s approach can anchor the story — but only if it is true. We write for your guests, without inventing provenance or leaning on generic ‘fresh and authentic’ claims.

03

Make every dish read beautifully

We write precise, appetite-building descriptions around the real ingredients and preparation. Working with your chef, we check dish names, translations, dietary information, and tone. A tasting menu can be restrained and elegant; a neighborhood trattoria can be warm and conversational.

04

Design around the way guests order

We review your menu mix, costs, and service priorities with your team. Clear sections, readable type, thoughtful spacing, and considered placement help guests navigate the meal. Signature dishes stand out without overwhelming the page or making the menu feel like a sales pitch.

05

Build one coherent identity

Typography, color, photography direction, and graphic details take their cues from your food and your room. We bring the menu, website, social profiles, and guest-facing materials into the same visual language, so the restaurant feels unmistakably yours at every touchpoint.

06

Proof it in the real world

We review print proofs under restaurant lighting and check digital menus on phones. Your team signs off on prices, spelling, ingredients, and dietary details. We refine the work before delivery, then hand over approved files and guidance that keep future seasonal updates consistent.

Olive Bistro.
A taste of Liguria in the Village.

The restaurant

A 34-seat Ligurian-style trattoria on a side street off Bleecker Street in Manhattan’s West Village. Two pots of basil on the windowsill, one chef who rolls pasta before service. The brief: say handmade pasta and intimate neighborhood hospitality without looking like a generic Italian restaurant.

The menu

Airy layouts, olive-green accents, and short ingredient-led lines that let the food speak for itself.

  • Trofie al PestoSignature

    $26

Hand-rolled trofie, Genovese basil pounded that morning, pine nuts, pecorino sardo.

  • Focaccia di Recco

    $14

Paper-thin Ligurian focaccia stretched around fresh cheese, flaked sea salt.

  • Branzino al Forno

    $42

Whole roasted sea bass, fennel, Taggiasca olives, lemon.

  • Tiramisù della Nonna

    $12

Espresso-soaked savoiardi, mascarpone, bitter cocoa — made at four, set overnight.

Aperitivo, 5–7 p.m. — Ligurian vermouth and warm focaccia, $12.

The brand story

“A little Liguria, a little West Village. Pesto pounded at four, pasta on your table by seven.”

That one line sets the voice: warm, specific, never “authentic and fresh.” It opens the menu, leads the website’s about section, and closes every social caption. The concept image above illustrates the visual direction.

What comes together

A clear brand story

Positioning, an about-the-restaurant narrative, and a voice guide with examples your team can use.

A considered menu

Dish copy, section structure, and coordinated print-ready and digital layouts for the agreed menu formats.

A consistent visual direction

Typography, color, image direction, and usage guidance across the agreed guest touchpoints.

Deliverables and production requirements are confirmed in your restaurant’s proposal.

Before we begin

Can you work with our existing logo and menu?

Yes. We start by understanding what already works. The brief can focus on a menu refresh and stronger storytelling rather than a complete rebrand.

How do you make it specific to our cuisine?

Your chef and team are the source of truth. We use your regional influences, actual dishes, techniques, and ingredient stories, then confirm terminology and descriptions with you.

Who approves prices and dietary information?

Your restaurant approves all prices, ingredients, allergen statements, and dietary claims before publication. We organize and proof the information; your team verifies its accuracy.

What happens when our menu changes?

We plan the layout and handover around seasonal updates. Additional formats, ongoing copy changes, printing, and production are agreed in your scope rather than assumed to be included.
